D1 – DIEGO SUAREZ

After your transfer and your installation at the hotel, according to the available time, you will begin your journey by a small tour in the city of Diègo Suarez. You will have the opportunity to discover the port, the Radoub basin, the old French military quarters, the market … as many curiosities, so many colors, scents that will familiarize you a little better with the ground and the men. Suarez, nowadays Antseranana, is named after two admirals: Diègo Diaz, the first European to discover Madagascar in 1500 and Fernan Soarez who led a wave of Portuguese invasion in 1506. The population of Diégo Suarez with Arabs Creoles, Indians and where miscegenation is common, is very cosmopolitan. The street presents a kaleidoscope of different faces with somewhere, a certain air of family.
D2 – DIEGO SUAREZ – 3BAYS – DIEGO SUAREZ
Direction: The Three Bays. The transfer is by 4X4 vehicle to the Sakalava Bay through the famous “Sugar Loaf”, or Nosy Lonjo.
Your tour guide will tell you the story of this famous “Sugar Loaf” or “Nosy Lonjo”, symbol of the city of Diégo Suarez, as soon as you see it. The walk continues along the Three Bays: the Sakalava Bay, the Bay of Pigeons and the Bay of Dunes. Everything here is so beautiful that it is difficult to look away from the clarity of the waters from blue to mirror sparkle.
Visit the lighthouse and the old French military installations Orangea will allow you to make a brief incursion in the history of this northern region of Madagascar, question of improving your knowledge or to have more concrete images on what you will have learned .
A picnic will enliven the lunch break before the next stage: the beautiful bay where is the picturesque fishing village of Ramena 20km from Diégo Suarez. D3 – DIEGO SUAREZ – RAMENA – DIEGO SUAREZ (EMERALD SEA)

D4 – DIEGO SUAREZ – AMBER MOUNTAIN – JOFFRE CITY
On the agenda for this day, the Amber Mountain National Park. To access it, the trip is done in 4X4 vehicle. The park is about forty kilometers away from Diégo Suarez.
By following the Thousand Trees path, you will enter a unique tropical garden, a humid primary forest, which several torrents and sacred cascades water in various places. The fauna is also tropical. D5 – JOFFRE CITY – RED TSINGY – ANKARANA
Direction: the village of Mahamasina, nestled at the entrance to the Ankarana National Park. The transfer is done in a 4 × 4 vehicle because of the poor condition of the road. The trip lasts 5 hours. The advantage: we have plenty of time to contemplate the landscape.
Head now on the Red Tsingy of Irondro. The red tsingy are distinguished by their more rounded form. Born from the encounter of rainwater and a compact rock, the red tsingy is the result of the erosion of this sandstone-marly massif. The red sand on the surface mixed with sandstone marl to imbue the tsingy with the various shades of red that earned it its name. These tsingy are fragile but you will have the opportunity to contemplate including the big and the small tsingy red, as well as the Canyon. Several circuits can be made there. From the discovery of tsingy, vast expanses of calcareous rock carved by erosion to bat caves with huge walls littered with bat nests and the wonderful green lake that reflects the light on the algae it contains. of the position of the sun.

D7 and D8 – ANKARANA – SAMBAVA – ANTALAHA
7th day of travel on the coast of vanilla. Departure very early in the morning for the city of Antalaha, step city for hiking in the Masoala National Park to Maroantsetra. D9 – ANTALAHA – CAPE EAST

D10 to D16 – TREK ON THE PENINSULA OF MASOALA

On the 7th day, it is by motorboat that your transfer to the city of Maroantsetra will take place. Once in Maroantsetra, go to the hotel where you have to spend the night.
D17 and D18 – MAROANTSETRA – SOANIERANA IVONGO
Departure for Soanierana Ivongo. The departure is done according to the schedule of the taxi-bus 4X4 which will lead you on this track. D25 – SAINTE MARIE – TAMATAVE
Depending on the tide, in the early morning you will return to Tamatave or Toamasina by boat. D29- ANDASIBE – ANTANANARIVO
On the 29th day of the trip, visit the VOI village park, a stone’s throw from the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. In this forest, perched in a tree, lives the Indri-indri, the largest of the lemurs. Monogamous, Indri-Indri has a very strong sense of family. We can also meet the brookesia, the smallest chameleon in Madagascar. This chameleon is not arboreal, that is to say that it does not live in trees, but terrestrial and has a strong mimicry with its environment. Another peculiarity of this forest: it shelters the giraffe beetle, a species that one finds only in Madagascar. Your tour guide will surely explain that his name, unsurprisingly, comes from his long neck.
The tour to the village of Andasibe, which you will then carry out, will give you an idea of the way of life of the local population.
For more than an hour after, you will discover the reserve Vakôna, the islet with lemurs where you will meet other species: the fulvus, the lemur bamboo, the vari.
